HEROSLAM awarded with the 2012 Txemi Cantera International Prize of Social Economy
ASLE, Basque Association of Employee Owned Companies, awarded HEROSLAM and Mr. José Luis Monzón, Director of CIRIEC(International Center of Research on Public, Social and Cooperative Economy) with the 2012 Txemi Cantera International Prize.
With this prestigious international award, ASLE recognizes those people, companies or organizations that contribute to the defense of the principles of the Social Economy: participation, democracy and solidarity.
The award ceremony was held on 2012 November 22nd at the Carlton Hotel in Bilbao (Spain) and among other authorities, Mrs Gemma Zabaleta (Secretary of Employment and Social Issues of the Basque Government), Mrs Izaskun Artetxe (Secretary of the Department for Economy Promotion of Bizkaia) along with Sol Agirre, Mr Txemi Cantera’s widow and President of Honor of the Jury were present at the event.
In its 22nd edition, the jury awarded HEROSLAM “because of the values that they represent: effort, team work, cooperation and social responsibility with the local community, based on strong principles in which the person is the center of every aspect of the business. As a result of this HEROSLAM is nowadays the oldest active Employee Owned company in Spain, with nearly 40 years.
