Selecting the right material for each thread rolling application is key to achieving optimal tool performance. For this reason, we work with a wide range of materials and manufacture our tools in different types of steel based on the specific needs and applications of our customers.
In close collaboration with our steel suppliers, we are pioneers in R&D, developing special alloys and new materials specifically designed to enhance the performance of our tools.
Proprietary Heat Treatments and Coatings
We have our own in-house heat and surface treatment facilities, a key differentiating factor in our production process. Thanks to our extensive experience in this field, we have developed proprietary treatments and special coatings that significantly enhance the performance and durability of the thread rolling tools we manufacture. Proof of this are our well-known NIT and GOGOR (GG) coatings.
Our heat treatments provide our tools with the optimal mechanical properties (hardness, strength, and elasticity) required for each thread rolling application. Our coatings are specifically designed to extend tool life in highly demanding processes, such as threading high-strength parts (classes 8.8, 10.9, 12.9, etc.), heat treated components, or parts made from hard materials such as stainless steel, titanium, or Inconel.
Our Manufacturing Process
We are specialists in manufacturing tools through grinding.
Thread rolling tools produced by grinding offer higher precision and greater durability than those manufactured using other processes such as machining or milling. For this reason, at Heroslam we specialize in grinding technologies, and all our tools are manufactured using grinding processes, providing our customers with high-precision, long-lasting tools.
We carry out the complete manufacturing process in our own facilities, including heat treatments and special coatings for our tools.
Proprietary Chamfering and RRO Technology
As a result of our extensive experience focused exclusively on thread rolling processes, we design our own thread profiles and special chamfers (RRO).
Thanks to this advanced technology, we equip our thread rolls and flat dies with customized thread profiles and special chamfers (RRO) tailored to our customers’ specific requirements, significantly improving the quality of threaded parts as well as the durability and performance of our tools.
